It has been a while since we last wrote so we thought it is about time we give an update so people know what is happening with henry and the Fund raisin.

Henry had his first cycle of chemotherapy which ended in May  2012. In July 2012 he started to loose weight again and at the same time, developed a lump on his chest; on the right side, where the cancer is.

As Henry's Oncologist advised Henry to start chemo within two weeks, we decided to spend a few days in Barcelona (Sitges). We had a fantastic time, the weather was great and for 5 days al we did was chilling on the beach and having sea food and fresh fruit.

The second day in Spain we went to the city centre of Barcelona.  We found out about an Oncologist clinic who provided complementary support to cancer patients.  Henry was seeing by an Oncologist, Natalia Eres Charles.  What she is doing for Henry is prescribing nutritional and herbal supplements meant to support Henry's immune system through chemo.  As an Oncologist he knows about chemotherapy side effects (not all chemo has the same side effects), so she warned Henry of possible side effects with the new chemo the Hospital was going to administer once back in the UK.  As well as nutritional and herbal supplements se recommended for Henry to walk 40 minutes every day and muscle building exercises, as the new chemo attacks muscles (something he is already experiencing now that he is on chemo).

Henry is getting a lot of support from this clinic, not only with regards to the physical aspect of the illness but also the emotional part.

I almost forgot to say that  Henry ended up being unwell while in Spain as he strained a chest muscle (this was related to the lump he got on his right chest and that was putting pressure on the other side.  So we had to spend 4 extra days in Spain, in a lovely hospital by the country side.  Surrounded by fields and pines.  No a house, no a shop, just peace and a fantastic and really hot weather that allowed him to go for daily walks.  As he was the only foreigner on the floor where he was, he got a lot of attention from Doctors and patients in general, so he had people visiting in his room all the time.  So even the hospital incident did not cause a great disruption.

Back in the UK, he, unfortunately, ended up in hospital again.  His calcium levels were so high that he had to be hospitalised for 3 days.

Now Henry has just had his third session of chemo and next week he will have a CT Scan to see what the response to chemo is.  So far the lump on his chest has gone and his blood results are fine.  Things are no too bad and Henry, as usual, keeps this great, strong and positive attitude before this difficult situation.

As for the money we need to raise, which is £30.000 and possibly more later on as the treatment won't be a one off thing, it is obvious that we have got a great support from people.  During the last event unfortunately only just enough was raised to break even after the expenses for organising it, but still, thanks to those who participated.  Thanks also to those who could not make it but made sure they still paid for a ticket so they could participate towards the fund raisin..

Thanks to those who still show interest and after months are still in touch to help in whatever they can.  Specially to Peggy (Steve C grandmother)  who does not even know Henry and has been in continuous touch over the phone to offer Henry Healing sessions. Thanks to Sharon, in Greece, thanks to Graham and to Errol.  And thanks to our floor neighbours!!!  always reminding Henry that if there is anything he needs, they are there!!
Only me

It does not get easier in any way. Life is not the same since you have stopped existing. Part of me has also vanished with you. Twice that you changed my life dramatically: once the day I met you, the second and last, the day you stopped living. You were a very misunderstood person but we know it is because you were too beautiful person to be recognized among the environment you were placed in this world. You deserved so much better, No one like you, Henry, no one.
I still love you.
